About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer Process Development to join our team at BD. As a key member of our Intelligent Automation team, you will be responsible for developing site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps, designing and implementing process optimization strategies, and collaborating with manufacturing site teams to improve product quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps and digital solutions
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce cycle time
  • Collaborate with manufacturing site teams to improve product quality and efficiency
  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments and pilot-scale studies
  • Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and technology transfer projects
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with counterparts in Manufacturing/Operations, business units, and Global Integrated Engineering

Requirements

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in manufacturing engineering, automation design and development, technology transfer, and project engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Intelligent Automation solutions and digital transformations
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, or Computer Engineering/Software Systems
  • Project Management Training and/or Certification
  • Industry 4.0 Training and/or Certification
  • Proficient in process analysis, process modeling, and simulation software
