Health and Safety Manager - Northeast

We are partnering with a leading Main Contractor and Specialist Subcontractors to find a talented and experienced Health and Safety Manager. As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all employees, eliminating risks, preventing workplace accidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the organisation's operations.
  2. Ensure all safety policies comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and relevant standards.
  3. Coordinate health and safety program elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare, and emergency arrangements.
  4. Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities.
  5. Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.
  6. Verify and accredit the supply chain, conduct compliance reviews, and provide guidance on general Health & Safety standards.
  7. Develop and deliver health and safety training programs ensuring all personnel are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
  8. Work closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure that health and safety protocols are integrated into daily operations.

Requirements:

  • Degree/qualifications in Health and Safety Management/NEBOSH.
  • Updated understanding of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines.
  • Proven years of experience in H&S roles within large scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of updated health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in H&S software & tools.
