Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our nursery staff, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) by engaging children in entertaining and educational play and activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones, and ensuring their safety throughout the day.

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands, such as maintaining hygiene standards and preparing rooms. Your role will also involve promoting and ensuring child welfare, protection, health, and safety, as well as safeguarding.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making learning fun and engaging for each child, able to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults, and has a sound understanding of child protection and the safeguarding of children. Flexibility and adaptability are essential in this role, as you will need to work as part of a larger team to maintain a positive, happy, and safe environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are open to candidates with previous experience working with children, although it is not essential. Relevant qualifications or experience include:

  • Nursery Bank Staff, Nursery Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Nanny, Childminder, or similar roles
  • Prior experience in childcare or education
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with children and adults
  • Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding
  • Flexibility and adaptability
