About the Role

Our National Teaching Assistant Program (NTAP) provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a variety of educational settings, making you an ideal candidate for future permanent roles.

As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of any school. Effective teaching assistants possess excellent communication skills and have a genuine interest in supporting the day-to-day needs of all children. They are also able to build relationships with both staff, children, and their families.

The role of a teaching assistant varies from school to school. You may be working to support the teacher while class teaching, running small group interventions to support children, or working on a 1:1 basis to ensure the needs of all children are met and that they can thrive.

  1. Supporting Teachers - Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and providing feedback to students on their progress.
  2. Working with Students - Work with individual or small groups of students to support their learning and help create a positive learning environment.
  3. Providing Feedback - Offer feedback to teachers and parents about students' progress and help identify areas for improvement.
  4. Attending Training - Participate in training sessions to improve your skills and knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest educational developments.
  5. Following School Policies - Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.
