The Role

As a Maths and English Tutor at Explore Learning, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and progression of our young members. You will be responsible for teaching, inspiring, and nurturing the academic growth of our students, helping them to achieve consistent progress and unlock the joy of learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: You will deliver high-quality teaching to our members, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each child. You will ensure that our members achieve consistent progress through the delivery of the national curriculum and entrance exam preparation.
  • Inspiring: As a tutor, you will inspire our members to become fearless learners, encouraging them to embrace learning with confidence and curiosity. You will inspire our members and their families, ensuring they get the most out of our service.
  • Nurturing: You will create a learning environment where each child feels safe and valued, with member well-being and safeguarding at the forefront of all your interactions.

Requirements

To be successful as a Maths and English Tutor at Explore Learning, you will need to possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Passion for Education: You will be passionate about making a meaningful impact through education and committed to creating a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.
  • Excellent Teaching Skills: You will have excellent teaching skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Strong Communication Skills: You will have strong communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate our members and their families.
  • Ability to Work as Part of a Team: You will be able to work as part of a team, with a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork among tutors and centre staff.
Logistics

The role will involve working with 6 children at a time, between the ages of 4 and 16, covering both national curriculum content and entrance exam preparation. This is a part-time, permanent role, with a minimum commitment of 6 hours over 2 days a week. Working days are between Tuesday and Saturday, with a start time between 3:30pm and 4pm on weekdays. Your base hourly pay will be £7.30 for under 18s, £8.80 for 18-20s, and £11.60 for 21+, with additional uplifts for holiday entitlement and hours worked.
