New Vacancy - Development Underwriter (Commercial Combined)

HFG is currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's MGA who is seeking a Development Underwriter to join their growing team in the South West region.

The ideal candidate will come from another MGA/MGU background with 3/4+ years Underwriting experience in the commercial combined space, in the SME to Mid Market region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key brokers in the region to increase the flow of new business activity.
  • Review and underwrite new business quotations across all products within our underwriting appetite.
  • Undertake broker visits and underwriting surgeries at broker offices to increase brand awareness.
  • Act as an escalation point for key brokers.
  • Liaise with the Technical Underwriting Team and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate with Business Development Managers and Regional Directors to develop and maintain broker relationships.
  • Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure all work is completed within SLAs.
  • Operate in accordance with the Underwriting License and collaborate with senior colleagues.
  • Take initiative to improve work processes and promote overall corporate goals.
  • Work from home with occasional visits to the London Office.
