Performance Engineer

Company Overview:

Astute People is working with a leading operator of Energy from Waste plants to find a skilled Performance Engineer for their largest asset in the South East of England. The plant has a capacity to process 550,000 tonnes of waste per year, generating 34MW of power for the surrounding area.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring plant performance and introducing improvements across operational plant performance, safety, responsibility, and profitability.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and track operational plant performance and identify improvement projects.
  • Project manage improvement projects involving liaison with operations, maintenance, and engineering departments and management of external contractors.
  • Conduct data analysis and manipulation via the DCS control system to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Analyse commercial performance and losses to identify improvements for profitability and cost saving.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND/degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH in Health & Safety is advantageous but not essential.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working with industrial plant from a similar environment such as Power Station, Refinery, COMAH, Utilities plant etc.
  • Data analysis and manipulation experience via a DCS control system.
  • Project experience as you'll be responsible for performance improvement projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as you will be required to liaise with multi-disciplined teams across the operations, maintenance, and engineering departments.
  • Presentation skills as you will be required to provide reports relating to technical data.
