Surgical Care Innovator

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Care Innovator to join our team in Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Enhanced Recovery Coordinator, you will play a vital role in implementing and improving perioperative care using evidence-based practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals and contribute to reducing surgical complications and length of stay.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical area at Band 5 or equivalent, with a proven track record of supervising and teaching healthcare professionals. A recognized post-registration teaching qualification is also essential. Strong knowledge of Enhanced Recovery Programmes and good clinical skills in a surgical environment are required. Experience in assisting and implementing guidelines, protocols, and pathways is highly valued.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing Enhanced Recovery into obstetrics for patients having an elective caesarean section, continuing to support gynae and other surgical specialties patients on the programme, holding group sessions to manage patient expectations, and participating in ERAS multidisciplinary meetings. You will also be involved in cross-covering other specialties as required.
