DATS Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual to drive the delivery of health, safety, and environmental activities, while also supporting business sustainability and communication initiatives.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement health, safety, and environmental management processes and procedures.
- Coordinate and liaise on business health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Develop and deliver the annual health, safety, and environmental strategic plan.
- Prepare and present health, safety, and environmental updates to management teams.
- Review and maintain safety instructions, safety work instructions, and risk assessments.
- Approve contractor risk assessments and method statements.
- Manage and monitor dosimetry and radiation requirements.
- Ensure effective reporting and investigation of health, safety, and environmental incidents, with lessons learned being adopted and shared.
- Maintain compliance with legislative and regulatory licenses.
- Provide safety training and inductions.
- Coordinate quarterly health, safety, and environmental review committee meetings.
- Oversee the safety stop of work event and promote the 5S methodology.
- Manage the health, safety, and environmental intranet pages and update relevant systems.
- Coordinate various health, safety, and environmental and facilities management activities, including testing, building logbooks, and DSE assessments.
- Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within a medium-sized company.
- A good secondary education, with A-Level qualifications.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent safety qualification.
- Experience working within a regulated safety management system.
- A strong advocate for sustainability and the environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems.
- Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Confident in identifying and implementing change, with a forward-thinking approach.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Security Clearance:
- Please note that DV security clearance is required for this role. Candidates must hold a UK passport and be prepared for a clearance process that can take 6-9 months.
