About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Cost Planner to join our Pre-Construction team at Kier Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing cost planning expertise and commercial advice on projects with a wide range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage cost plans with a high degree of commercial acumen, ensuring accurate and reliable financial information.
  • Attend client-facing meetings to articulate cost plan details clearly to clients and design teams, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Liaise with design consultants, attending design meetings to advise on the commercial effects of design proposals, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Provide affordability advice, continuously appraise, and value manage throughout the procurement process, identifying key risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in cost planning and commercial management, with a strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes, and delivery models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing project requirements.
