About the Role

Howard Civil Engineering is a leading civil engineering company in the North, renowned for building strong, trustworthy relationships with clients. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the commercial team, working closely with experienced professionals to develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial aspects of dedicated sites across Yorkshire, ensuring cost control and efficient project delivery.
  • Produce monthly cost and value forecasts, as well as prepare and submit applications for payment.
  • Procure, assess, and reconcile sub-contractor applications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Track changes to design and capture variations, maintaining a keen eye for detail.
  • Review progress against programme, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Assist in the tendering process, providing contract support to Contracts and Site Managers.
Requirements
  • Either graduating in 2024 or having recently completed a suitable masters or bachelor's degree from a relevant commercial course, with a minimum grade of 2:2.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Passionate about the civil engineering sector and committed to ongoing learning and development.
  • Strong IT skills and competence with Microsoft tools.
  • Punctual and good time keeping, with a keen eye for detail.
