We are seeking a highly creative and skilled Knitwear Designer to join our client, a well-established firm based in the UK, on a full-time, permanent position.


The successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative knitwear designs based on seasonal trends, market demands, and client briefs. Key responsibilities include:


Main Responsibilities:


  • Create innovative knitwear designs that meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Research and analyse fashion trends, yarns, textures, colours, and patterns to inspire new collections.
  • Develop mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Source appropriate yarns, trims, and embellishments for each design.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for all designs, including knit structure, yarn composition, and sizing.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure garment construction, fit, and finishes meet industry standards and brand expectations.


Person Specifications:


  • Creative thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Previous knitwear design experience.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, knitwear techniques, and yarn properties.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CAD programs.
  • Strong knowledge of the fashion market and current knitwear trends.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
