CV-Library is supporting a leading automotive manufacturer in appointing an Interior Trim Design Engineer for their site in Cranfield.

Key Details:

  • Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am-5pm, Friday, 8am-1:20pm
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid, typically 3 days/week on site
  • Rate: £30.78 per hour (PAYE rate) + holiday and pension accrual
  • Contract Duration: 12 months+ with prospects for further extension

This is a Lead Interior Design Engineer role requiring expertise in design for customer, design for manufacture, and idea generation with a focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis, and reporting. Project work will involve current and new model modifications.

The company welcomes applications from individuals with experience working at OEMs, manufacturers, or Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive sector, with exposure to plastics, interior, or exterior trim.

Essential Skills:

  1. Design or engineering qualification
  2. CAD interrogation skills
  3. Previous automotive design and development experience
  4. Cost breakdown analysis and technical/commercial cross-functional team experience
  5. Prior knowledge of interior cabin parts/modules
  6. Prior knowledge of manufacturing processes
  7. Valid driving license and ability to travel globally
