Workshop Controller Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Halfords. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop team, ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service and meet our operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the allocation of jobs to the Workshop team, ensuring that work is prioritized and completed to the highest standard.
- Hold daily huddles with the team to ensure everyone is aware of commercial priorities and customer expectations.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and productivity within the Workshop.
- Inspire and mentor the Workshop team to develop their technical capabilities and provide technical support as needed.
- Promote Halfords' values and instil these in the team, ensuring that we maintain our high standards of customer service and quality.
Requirements:
- Technically trained to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance standard, or equivalent time served.
- Experience of managing/supervising a team/workshop to drive performance and delivery.
- Excellent customer approach - ability to communicate clearly and simply to customers.
- Experience of developing colleagues through delivery of technical training.
- Experience of exceeding customer metrics - working with management to support in driving key metrics and KPIs.
- Experience of meeting compliance standards across Health and Safety and quality.
- Experience of labour force scheduling, with proven time management skills.
- Must hold a current full valid driving licence.
