Vetisco invites applications from skilled soft tissue surgeons to join its dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role presents an excellent opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of clinicians, RVNs and Animal Care Assistants in the North East region.

About Our Team

Our team consists of six Advanced Practitioner surgeons, including one who will be taking maternity leave. We are supported by dedicated surgical nurses with various certifications and diplomas.

We also have experienced medicine, cardiology, and ECC departments, offering referrals in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, neurology/neurosurgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, and ECC.

Our ECC department provides 24-hour care and emergency OOH cover for other local practices, ensuring high-quality patient care at all times.

We offer excellent facilities, including advanced imaging equipment and in-house laboratory services.

Our hospital is located near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, close to the city and beautiful Northumberland coastline and National Park.

About Your Role

As a soft tissue surgeon, you will work alongside our team to deliver exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in soft tissue procedures, including TECAs, perineal hernias, and GI surgery, as well as orthopaedic procedures like basic fracture repairs and cruciate disease management.

Weekend work is supported by our ECC vets and includes emergency surgeries across all surgical disciplines. Experienced surgery certificate holders are encouraged to apply.
