We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our Medicine Division, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality gastroenterology services to our patients.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of six Consultant Gastroenterologists and two Locum Gastroenterologists. You will be responsible for delivering outpatient gastroenterology care to our local patients through regular clinics, currently based within the hospital and a nearby community hospital at Daventry.
As our local STP develops, you should be prepared to deliver this care flexibly and in line with the growth of more community-based care for chronic conditions. You will be supported in this outpatient care by a comprehensive team of specialist nurses.
Main Duties:- Deliver high-quality gastroenterology services to our patients
- Work collaboratively with the existing team of Consultant Gastroenterologists and Locum Gastroenterologists
- Develop and implement effective care pathways for gastroenterology patients
- Contribute to the development of gastroenterology and endoscopy services in the hospital and wider South Northamptonshire area
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant specialty degree qualification
- Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it in relevant specialty
- Full registration with General Medical Council
- Experience of Audit and Quality Improvement
- Experience of Teaching Junior Staff
- Experience of Undergraduate Teaching
