Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Pharmacist to join our team in a rotational medicine position. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your skills and knowledge across a wide range of clinical specialties, including cardiology, respiratory, stroke, gastroenterology, and admissions.

Main Duties

  • Work within a clinical medical specialty for 6 months at a time, building relationships with other staff to ensure safe and effective medicines optimisation for patients.
  • Actively participate in ward rounds and fully integrate within the speciality multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake projects or developments within the speciality, such as Quality Improvements, Audits, and Research.
  • Contribute to guideline and PGD developments within the speciality.
  • Carry out root cause analysis of medicine-related incidents and attend or present at governance meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive pharmacy service within a designated clinical area, specialising in medicine admissions, ED, renal, cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology, and other areas.
  • Manage and develop staff, including training and supervision.
  • Contribute to service development, including Quality Improvement projects and guideline developments.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient care.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Pharmacist who can demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in hospital pharmacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
