Person Specification
  • Working towards Master's degree
  • SACT or Care of the Cancer Patient Qualification or recognised equivalent
  • Current competency in the use of the 24-hour emergency helpline/UKONS triage tool
  • Accredited Advanced Communication Skills Course
  • Teaching qualification
  • Counselling skills
  • Management/leadership course
  • Independent and Supplementary Prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake
  • Physical assessment and history taking skills or willingness to undertake
  • UKONS Acute Oncology Passport Level 3
  • Evidence of completion of the UKONS 24-hour triage phone training
Experience
  • Experience in oncology/cancer/acute medical nursing at band 6 or above
  • Experience of running nurse-led clinics
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of leadership skills in clinical practice
  • Evidence of being able to work across organisational boundaries
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience of electronic chemotherapy/SACT prescribing systems
  • Experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Experience of identifying and implementing service changes
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and undertake workload independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates up to date knowledge and expertise in the speciality, including possession of relevant competencies
  • Evidence of collaborative working in a multi-disciplinary team across a variety of specialities
  • Evidence of reflective practice
