South Moor Vets is a reputable veterinary clinic based in the picturesque town of Kingsbridge, located in the beautiful South Hams region.

We have multiple branches across the area, each equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a CT scanner, digital radiography system, endoscopy, and advanced surgical equipment. Our dedicated team consists of experienced veterinarians and support staff, many of whom hold specialist certificates, providing expert care and attention to our patients.

In addition to our daytime services, we operate an own-hours (OOH) scheme, where three nurses and five veterinarians are on duty each night at three of our sites, ensuring seamless care for our clients.

This part-time position offers a great work-life balance, with flexible scheduling options for either three or four days per week. The role will involve a mix of consulting and operating duties, with opportunities to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status and provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Perform a range of surgical procedures, from routine operations to emergency interventions, while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures, maintaining strict quality control measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians and other support staff to deliver comprehensive care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide clear guidance and education to pet owners on post-operative care and general animal health, fostering strong client relationships and trust.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements and research in veterinary medicine, applying this knowledge to enhance patient care and treatment.
  • Participate in laboratory work as needed, including diagnostic testing and analysis, to inform treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
