Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Ultrasound department, you will be responsible for performing and independently reporting on a range of ultrasound examinations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical imaging, with a focus on obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality, safe ultrasound service to our patients.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Perform and independently report on a range of ultrasound examinations, including obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound.
  • Maintain professional standards and employ best practice in order to provide a high-quality, safe ultrasound service.
  • Proactively participate in the development of trainee sonographers and other staff.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential Criteria
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • PG Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
  • HCPC registration.
Desirable Criteria
  • Up-to-date professional portfolio.
Knowledge/ExperienceEssential Criteria
  • Recent NHS experience.
  • Able to work independently on obstetric, gynaecology and general medical ultrasound.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of clinical demand.
  • Experience of training/mentoring students.
  • Ability to provide accurate, concise, clinical reports.
Desirable Criteria
  • Current FMF licence.
