Job Title: Head of DevelopmentAbout the Role

The Head of Development will be responsible for leading the development team at Equator, driving innovation and excellence in software development. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and direct a team of software engineers, testers, and architects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a vision for software development at Equator, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Lead a team of 35 software engineers, testers, and architects, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success.
  • Manage the development process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product managers, and QA engineers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, and partners, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the team.
  • Manage the team's performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure individual and team growth.
  • Ensure compliance with Equator's policies, procedures, and standards, including security, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage the team's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and optimization.
  • Represent Equator in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, promoting the company's expertise and thought leadership in software development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading software development teams, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Excellent technical skills, with expertise in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of software engineers, testers, and architects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product managers, and QA engineers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including planning, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with version control systems, including Git and SVN.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
