We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Manufacturing Engineering Director. This position is a unique opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in manufacturing engineering management to join our team at Mercury Hampton Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, developing and implementing strategies for continuous improvement, and driving operational excellence throughout the organisation. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of modern manufacturing techniques and systems, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to make informed decisions that drive business growth.

The salary for this position is approximately £77,000 per annum, plus an additional £8,000 car allowance, making the total remuneration package around £85,000 per year.

In terms of qualifications, we are looking for an individual with a solid background in manufacturing engineering, preferably with experience in the aerospace sector. The candidate should have a proven track record of achieving targets, leading high-performing teams, and driving business growth through strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Lead a team of engineers and provide guidance on best practices and new technologies.
  • Drive operational excellence through lean methodology and Six Sigma principles.
  • Maintain internal and external customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality products and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organisation remains competitive.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering management.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with lean methodology and Six Sigma principles.
