About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to provide support to a visually impaired person living in the Canton area of Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily tasks, reading correspondence, and helping with general administration in the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily tasks and activities
  • Read correspondence and help with general administration
  • Escort to events and meetings
  • Support with internet browsing and online shopping

Requirements

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent descriptive and communication skills
  • Good spatial awareness and understanding of colour, style, and design
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Flexible about working hours
  • Willing to guide and describe in public places
  • Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a car
  • Be registered as self-employed

As a Self-Employed PA

  • Provide a Unique Tax Reference (UTR) issued by HMRC
  • Arrange own insurance cover
  • Provide a contract/cost of service/holiday & sickness arrangements
  • Provide invoices quoting HMRC registration number
  • Arrange own tax, national insurance, and general accounts
  • Provide own equipment
  • Provide other workers to support the service user if unable to provide the service
  • Arrange own DBS check and provide evidence to the service user
