Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client, a small business specializing in the design, build, commissioning, and installation of manufacturing automation systems. The successful candidate will have electrical qualifications and experience within the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for manufacturing automation
  • Use AutoCAD 3D software for design and documentation
  • Conduct site surveys to assess product viability and feasibility
  • Pre-commissioning of manufacturing equipment before delivery to site
  • Installation of equipment and product handover
  • Panel wiring and cabinet building
  • Travel to client sites throughout the UK and abroad for installation and maintenance
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Receive product training specific to the company's manufacturing automation systems
  • Work collaboratively within a small team

Requirements

  • Electrical/electronic qualifications at least to HNC level
  • Electrical engineering experience within the manufacturing/automation industry, including design and panel building
  • Knowledge of delta star configurations and oscilloscope usage
  • Ability to work in a static-based role with occasional travel (1-2 weeks, monthly)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Driving license
  • Based within commutable distance of Leicester
