Job Description

**Job Title:** Commercial Quantity Surveyor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our Logistics Management Centre, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of a sub-area, including North East London Waste Networks.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide commercial advice to local operational teams and assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in assessing complex works/claims.
  • Carry out site measurements, estimating, and producing month-end valuation documentation.
  • Assess payment applications up to £100K in value.
  • Ensure Thames Water meets all contractual, legal, and commercial obligations.
  • Engage with and advise professional service colleagues, such as Senior Management Accountants and Operations Managers.
  • Management responsibility for 2 FTE.
  • Provide commercial advice to local operational teams.
  • Safeguard Thames Water against claims over £1 million per annum.
  • Deliver efficiency savings to Thames Water of £1 million per annum.

**Requirements:**

  • Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have access to a car.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Experience of commercial responsibility over £3 million.
  • Experience in resolving claims over £200K.
  • Experience engaging at the local management level.
  • Site measurement experience.
  • Working towards gaining Chartered status.

**What We Offer:**

  • Up to £52,000 per annum depending on experience and skills.
  • 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
  • Car allowance of £4,500 per year.
  • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
  • Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year.
