About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our Therapeutic Apheresis Services team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of our unit, providing administrative support to our nursing team, and maintaining the highest standards of care and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, including updating diaries, collating test results, and filing confidential patient information
  • Provide administrative support to the nursing team, including recording data, managing patient files, and supporting Specialist Nurses with administrative work
  • Work closely with the nursing team to ensure the smooth daily running of the unit, including welcoming patients and donors, making refreshments, and providing basic care as needed
  • Manage stock and supplies, and maintain accurate records
  • Support the team with meeting arrangements, including booking meeting rooms, creating agendas, and minute-taking

Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and development
  • Knowledge and experience of working with electronic forms of communication, including email and the internet
  • Experience of working with Information Technology, including Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulation issues
