Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Oncology Nurse to join our team in the Skin Cancer Oncology service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with skin cancer, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating their care.
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and psychological support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a resource and contribute to the education and training of other healthcare professionals as required.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, and research projects, and help develop educational packages as needed.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience in cancer, palliative care, or a related specialty at Band 5 or above.
  • Proven evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
  • NMC Registered.
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or equivalent relevant subject or experience/working towards.
Person Specification:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a standard 37.5-hour week. The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively is essential.
