Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and innovative Occupational Therapy and Multi-Disciplinary Team in our Male Rehabilitation Forensic Inpatient Mental Health Service.
Main Responsibilities- Work closely with the Clinical Team Manager to oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment and support the CTM in carrying out their duties.
- Present as a positive and professional role model to all staff, striving to maintain a philosophy of service user involvement in continuously improving the service.
- Work as an integrated member of the clinical team, participating in all aspects of day-to-day service provision.
- Work within a clear Occupational Therapy pathway, facilitating screening assessment, needs analysis/prioritisation, treatment planning, and facilitating interventions.
- Take the professional lead for the overall provision and development of high-quality Occupational Therapy Service, asserting your competencies as an Occupational Therapist and embedding these within your role.
- Actively participate in and provide clinical and management supervision.
- Positively participate in and assist other staff in the implementation of personal development plans and promote mandatory training.
- Utilise your core Occupational Therapy skills in providing a high-quality Occupational Therapy mental health treatment.
- Be responsible and accountable for the Occupational Therapy assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Care and Treatment for Service Users within a Care Programme Approach (CPA) system.
- Support other staff in the implementation of service user treatment plans.
- Maintain clear links with your profession's structures and your profession's lead within the Trust, supporting the profession's development and modernisation and adhering to your profession's standards and codes of practice.
The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research, and professional development.
Person Specification- Relevant core professional qualification (DipCoT, BSc OT, MSc OT, or other relevant OT qualification) and evidence of 18+ months experience as a qualified occupational therapist.
- Completion of preceptorship programme.
- Experience and evidence of working within mental health services.
- Experience of leadership/managerial skills, including supervision of other staff.
- Experience of risk management.
