Account Manager Job Overview

We at Nichols & Co are seeking an experienced and skilled Account Manager to join our team, specializing in the healthcare sector with a focus on GP practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, capable of handling all aspects of account management, including presenting to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of accounts for GP practices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation of accounts for various business types, including limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Oversee the preparation of self-assessment income tax returns and corporation tax returns.
  • Provide tax planning and pension planning services for medical professionals, including GPs, locum doctors, and consultants in private practice.
  • Supervise and oversee the work of junior staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Offer proactive advice on tax and accounting matters to clients in the medical sector.
Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working on GP accounts, with a strong understanding of the healthcare sector, particularly NHS operations and private healthcare income streams.
  • Exceptional proficiency in accounting software, including Sage, Xero, and Iris.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with high efficiency, alongside a willingness to work in-office for the initial probation period.
  • Excellent supervisory skills with experience in overseeing team members.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present and discuss financial matters with healthcare professionals.
