We are looking for a highly skilled Natural Hazard Specialist to join our Japan Analytics team in London. This full-time position comes with a salary range of £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, based on experience.

About the Position

In this critical role, you will work with clients and internal teams to assess and mitigate natural disaster risks. You will leverage catastrophe models to estimate the likelihood and severity of natural disasters, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Conducting thorough analyses of client portfolios using catastrophe models to identify potential risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with brokers, actuaries, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive risk management strategies.
  • Model Development: Creating and refining catastrophe models to better reflect real-world scenarios and improve predictive accuracy.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Preparing detailed reports and delivering engaging presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong academic record in a relevant field, such as finance, statistics, or geography. Experience with catastrophe modelling software, GIS, and programming languages like SQL, R, or Python is highly desirable. Your expertise in natural hazard analysis and ability to communicate complex concepts simply will enable you to make a significant impact in this role.
