Water Resources Risk Manager

South West Water is seeking an experienced Water Resources Operational Risk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Business Partnering team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our water resources operational strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the reporting of abstraction activities across South West Water, Bristol Water, Bournemouth Water, and Isles of Scilly regions.
- Commission and oversee the collection, analysis, and documentation of water abstraction data from various sources.
- Manage water abstraction permits, including tracking permit conditions, abstraction activities, deadlines, and reporting obligations.
- Conduct regular inspections and reports of abstraction sites to verify adherence to approved abstraction limits and operational requirements.
- Support the Abstraction Strategy Manager in understanding current abstraction performance and collaborate to shape the Abstraction Strategy.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and internal departments.
- Drive response and mitigation plans for emerging licence risks with Operations and other relevant internal stakeholders.
- Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
- Track record of delivery, personal resilience, and a self-starter attitude.
- Hydrology/Environmental Science/Water resource management-related Degree.
- Experience in water resources management, environmental compliance, or related fields.
- Experience in water abstraction reporting, regulatory compliance, and permit management.
- Analytical and competent with statistical analysis software, data visualization tools, and environmental monitoring instrumentation.
- A competitive salary of up to circa £52,000.
