About the Role

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will play a vital role in providing recovery-focused interventions to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to children and young people, working closely with them to identify their needs and develop personalized recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Work with families and carers to empower them with the knowledge and skills needed to support their loved ones.
  • Connect children and young people with community resources and services, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based therapeutic treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our service users.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health needs, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of analyzing and communicating complex information verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in community settings, with a focus on promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
