Maintenance Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance on plant and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure maximum production efficiency.
  2. Respond promptly to equipment failures and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
  3. Install and relocate production equipment as needed.
  4. Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  5. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams.
  6. Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  7. Liaise with contractors and engineering companies to ensure timely and effective maintenance.
  8. Assist with stock takes and inventory management.
  9. Work flexible hours, including overtime, to meet production demands.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering).
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  3. Experience working in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment.
  4. Desirable: experience within the Printing/Carton Manufacturing Industry and knowledge of Bobst Cut & Crease Machines and Folder Gluers.
