Learning Support Advisor Position

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Advisor to join our team at the Lincoln Military Academy. This is a part-time, fixed-term position that requires strong background support for young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide structured support using various effective interventions as per the EHCP Plan within a class or outdoor setting.
- Aid access to full learning experiences and provide modified materials as required, such as worksheets, games, visual prompt cards, etc.
- Offer positive reinforcements, praise, and emotional support to learners.
- Advise and support tutors in making necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of Learning Support Plans and contact logs.
- Work collaboratively as part of the team to enhance learner well-being and personal development.
- Agree on learning support aims and interventions with the learner and set these out in the Learning Support Plan.
- Provide regular feedback to the SENCO and relevant outside agencies about any pupil's difficulties and progress.
- Contribute to Learners' annual review by writing a brief report and attending the meeting.
- Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with learners and support interaction between them.
- Attend in-service training and relevant meetings to stay up-to-date with developments.
- Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health and Safety Policies, being vigilant to potential concerns and risks.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience working with Post 16 learners having Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP).
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
- NVQ3 or equivalent recognized by National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Training in aspects of SEN, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, SEMH, etc.
