Job Description

Software Test and Validation Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Software Test Automation Engineer to join our client, a leading organisation in the field of Software Test and Validation. Based at their Edinburgh R+D Centre, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing test automation software in Python and LabView, targeting validation automation software packages for lab-based hardware and chip validation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science and at least 2 years of experience in delivering test and validation automation software in Python and/or LabView, preferably for hardware and chip validation. They will be comfortable working at the interface between hardware and software and will have a good understanding of lab-based hardware testing.

The successful candidate will be involved in writing embedded software for software validation testing where needed and will also be responsible for supporting lab-based validation regression testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement test automation software in Python and LabView
  • Target validation automation software packages for lab-based hardware and chip validation
  • Write embedded software for software validation testing
  • Support lab-based validation regression testing

Requirements:

  • Strong background in Computer Science
  • At least 2 years of experience in delivering test and validation automation software in Python and/or LabView
  • Experience in lab-based hardware testing
  • Good understanding of embedded software development
