We are seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading global business within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

About the Role

This role involves providing health, safety and environmental support and advice across the business, promoting a safety-first culture, and taking the lead on training and coaching. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE, excellent communication skills, and experience in developing and embedding policies and procedures.

The role includes:

  • Providing guidance on HSE legislation.
  • Reviewing and updating policies and practices.
  • Supporting operational teams with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Investigating and documenting accidents.
  • Providing advice on risk management and health surveillance.
  • Assisting with HSE audits and assessment plans.
  • Identifying areas for improvement.
  • Developing and delivering HSE training.
  • Coordinating safety committee meetings.
  • Reporting metrics.
  • Deputising for the QHSE Manager.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum level 3 Health & Safety qualification.
  • A minimum TechIOSH, preferred CertIOSH or equivalent qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Naturally inquisitive with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills.
  • A team player.
  • Accountability for own responsibilities.
