Occupational Therapist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients on the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for conducting evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and developing treatment plans to promote the recovery, health, and wellbeing of our patients. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical supervision and coordinate the development of therapeutic activities across the service.
We are looking for an individual with specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardized assessments, and their application in practice. You will have a broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation, and drivers, as well as knowledge and understanding of the evidence-base relevant to the clinical area.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients on the PICU
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to promote patient recovery, health, and wellbeing
- Develop and implement treatment plans to promote patient independence and community living skills
- Coordinate and develop therapeutic activities across the service
- Work with internal and external agencies to develop networks to support patient reintegration into the community
