About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients on the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to promote the recovery, health, and wellbeing of our patients.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Coordinate and develop therapeutic activities to support the recovery and independence of our patients.
  • Work with internal and external agencies to develop networks and support services for our patients.
  • Contribute to the development of the Occupational Therapy service and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice.
  • A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation, and their application to clinical practice and service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the evidence-base relevant to the clinical area.
