Companionship Support Specialist

Marie Curie is seeking a compassionate and empathetic individual to provide companionship support to patients in need. As a Companionship Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of those we care for.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to build on your skills in a charity environment. You will work closely with our team to provide emotional support, a listening ear, and practical assistance to patients and their families. Your role will involve:
• Signposting families, friends, and carers to other services
• Supporting us with the evaluation of the service
• Keeping staff informed of any changes or significant happenings in connection with the patient
• Attending individual support sessions and group development sessions as required
• Representing the Companions service positively to those using the service
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with an excellent benefits package, including induction, training, and supervision in your role. You will also be entitled to agreed reasonable out-of-pocket expenses and an opportunity to be part of an innovative project that will make a real difference to people.

• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
• Willingness to be flexible to the needs of the individual
What We Ask of You
We ask that you provide two references from non-family members and relevant documents related to the role. You will also be required to complete an induction and any training related to the role, and operate within policies and guidelines, particularly regarding confidentiality.
