Job Overview

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Director to lead the Trust's Commissioning Team. This team plays a crucial role in building and maintaining relationships with NHS commissioners of patient services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commissioning cycle, function, and team to ensure effective management arrangements are in place for the Trust's patient care activity.

Main Duties

The Commissioning Director will:

  • Manage the commissioning cycle, function, and team to ensure effective management arrangements are in place for the Trust's patient care activity.
  • Coordinate the development, negotiation, and management of NHS patient care contracts.
  • Serve as the Trust's lead in relation to specific identified commissioners and support the commissioning team in their own lead roles with commissioners.
  • Have a key role in the development and management of the Trust's response to current NHS contracting and payment framework, providing appropriate support and advice to the Trust's departments.
  • Act as a key link between Commissioning, Finance, and Operations (including divisions).
  • Provide line management for the Clinical Coding function and senior team.
