Job Summary

The Deputy General Manager - Clinical Services will play a key role in the Specialist Medicine Directorate, working closely with the Directorate General Manager, Clinical Director, and Matrons to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the Clinical Directorate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of financial balance across the Specialist Medicine Directorate through active and regular monitoring and management of expenditure.
  • Monitor and take action to ensure that all quality, productivity, and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Work with the DGM and Clinical Director to formulate an effective and viable business plan for the designated Clinical Units.
  • Advise and support the Clinical Director on the appropriate application of the Business Planning process.
  • Support the Directorate General Manager to identify all commissioning intentions in designated Clinical Units.
  • Monitor the progress of existing projects and evaluate all completed projects that improve service delivery.
  • Assist the DGM in delivering and monitoring performance against set targets.
  • Lead, manage, motivate, and develop staff within the designated Clinical Units.
  • Ensure training and development needs of staff are identified and reflected in the annual business plan.
