Financial Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at CV-Library. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and managing our organisation's finance function.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and adjusting reconciling items to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure assets and liabilities are accounted for correctly and fully substantiated, maintaining the integrity of our financial records.
- Prepare and post duly authorised journals in line with Company policies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare the monthly consolidated management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow, providing valuable insights for business decision-making.
- Manage the payroll process with HR, ensuring accurate accounting entries and timely payments to employees and HMRC.
- Cash Management and Treasury across the Group, ensuring efficient and effective financial management.
- Review and approve payment runs, maintaining control and ensuring compliance with Company policies.
- Prepare the annual statutory accounts, including creating and maintaining multi-currency aspects, and gathering data for the notes to the accounts.
- Manage the annual audit across all group entities, liaising with and coordinating activity with external auditors.
- Develop and document business processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in our finance function.
- Oversee the UK company tax reporting procedure, ensuring timely and accurate returns are filed – VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Create annual R&D tax claims, working with relevant employees to save a substantial amount of money on taxes by applying expertise and analysis of business financial data.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and Office for National Statistics, maintaining our organisation's reputation for integrity and transparency.
- Update and review daily cash flow forecast, providing valuable insights for business decision-making.
- Detailed knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Preparation of consolidated, multi-currency financial statements and use of consolidation software/packages.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic digital business.
- Knowledge of UK R&D Tax Legislation.
- Experience of supporting the implementation of an ERP system.
- Understanding of VAT rules and reporting requirements.
- Experience of working in a multi-currency environment.
- Interrogation, extraction, and manipulation of data from ERP systems.
- Extensive use of advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.
- ACA/ACCA qualified – 3 years PQ experience.
