About the Role:

Vanquis Banking Group is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Risk Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our risk management function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

About You:

  • You will have a strong background in finance and risk management, with a focus on strategic planning and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and manage risk.
  • A professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-line review and challenge of key financial reports, including full-year, half-year, and quarterly updates.
  • Support exercises to stress test business models using various scenarios, including major regulatory deliverables such as the ICAAP and Recovery Plan.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to set risk appetite statements, measures, and thresholds.
  • Ensure that the group meets current and future regulatory and statutory rules and legislation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the risk management framework.
  • Offer technical expertise in financial and strategic risk management.
