About the Role

We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our team as a Welder and Fabrication Specialist at our Portsmouth Naval Base location.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out trade-specific tasks, including fabrication, welding, and maintenance of naval vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out risk assessments and abide by all relevant policies and laws.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are suitable, fit for purpose, and in date.
  • Attend training courses, Tool Box Talks, and briefings.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers and mentor allocated apprentices.
Requirements:
  • Completed an appropriate trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in fabrication and welding.
  • Competent in using a wide range of hand tools and equipment.
  • Relevant industry experience in Marine, Oil & Gas, Heavy Construction, or Rolling Stock.
