Electrical Site Manager Job Description

AA Euro Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join their team. As an Electrical Site Manager, you will be responsible for representing the Project Manager and company on major construction sites, overseeing all site-related activities associated with the construction of a varied range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the development of construction programmes, short-term look-ahead planning reports, equipment, and materials schedules.
  2. Visit sites and develop site establishment schedules.
  3. Familiarize yourself with change management with the Project Manager.
  4. Assist in project validation.
  5. Implement site safety starter packs and participate in HSEQ plans.
  6. Set up site establishments.
  7. Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments with sub-contractors.
  8. Review construction drawings and sign off.
  9. Assist in benchmarking installation practices and quality procedures.
Project Construction Phase:
  1. Ensure all on-site personnel hold the relevant competencies for the tasks they will be carrying out.
  2. Maintain the company's good image at all times.
  3. Assist the Project team in expediting major equipment deliveries.
  4. Maintain detailed site diaries.
  5. Attend and chair internal meetings.
  6. Ensure all variations are picked up in a timely fashion in conjunction with the Project Manager and QS.
  7. Ensure labour allocation sheets are being completed by sub-contractors.
  8. Produce short-term programmes in line with master programmes.
  9. Mark up master programmes each week and issue to the Project Manager.
  10. Effectively manage sub-contractor supervision to enable efficient productivity.
  11. Ensure sub-contractor workforces are on site at workfaces on time.
Safety:
  1. Ensure tool box talks, inductions, and safety briefings are being carried out.
  2. Deliver specific EHSQ TBTs and group stand-downs.
  3. Perform weekly EHS audits.
  4. Ensure all staff are set to work in a safe and proper fashion.
  5. Maintain plant logs and ensure weekly safety checks are carried out.
  6. Ensure operatives are working safely, wearing appropriate PPE, and working to agreed method statements.
  7. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policy, particularly in relation to the operation of work permits, site safety audits, and weekly walk-around.
  8. Carry out daily walk-arounds adopting a 'don't walk by' approach to safety.
  9. Implement H&S behaviour/culture and Golden Rules.
  10. Enforce 30-minute reporting.
Quality:
  1. Plan and coordinate the delivery of materials and plant.
  2. Deliver specific QAQC TBTs and group stand-downs.
  3. Perform weekly QAQC audits.
  4. Mark up drawings in conjunction with inspection testing.
  5. Ensure inspection test plans are enforced by snagging works, then offering to the client for inspection at various stages of the installation working to ZERO snags.
  6. Ensure that free-issue equipment is checked, cared for, and once accepted confirm to the engineer to sign off for payment.
  7. Raise and close off NCRs as necessary.
Close Out Activities:
  1. Liaise with the commissioning engineer to ensure all systems are tested, demonstrated, and handed over.
  2. Ensure all site safety devices are proved.
  3. Ensure all life systems are complete and certified.
  4. Issue final marked-up drawings are correct.
  5. Liaise with the Project Manager on site demobilization, including plant, labour, materials, and site establishment.
  6. Ensure all statutory notices, schematics, wall charts are in place on site in accordance with the project completion checklist.
Necessary Requirements:
  1. Recognized Electrical apprenticeship/trade cert coupled with a minimum of 5 years Site Management experience.
  2. Experience in managing Electrical design and build projects in excess of €5 million.
  3. You will ideally be in possession of; IOSH certificate managing safety; IOSH certificate in environmental management and general NEBOSH certificate but not essential.
  4. Possess strong computer abilities.
  5. PICW 'Person in Charge of Work' Level A would be advantageous.
  6. Professional Acumen - Represent the company at a senior level in meetings, presentations, technical workshops, etc. in a professional, competent, and capable manner.
  7. Communications - A strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency. Ability to lead presentations to larger audiences.
  8. Planning and Organising - An organized and adaptable individual with a flexible approach to work. Ability to manage and prioritize when leading multiple projects.
  9. Deep understanding of constructability of projects.
  10. Strong Commercial awareness.
  11. Capable of building strategic relationships with third-party design groups.
  12. Ability to work on own initiative and build and manage a team.
