Job Description:

Project Overview:

VIP Limited is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a project that requires the imaging, racking, and powering up of 4 new physical servers. The successful candidate will be responsible for building 4 virtual servers on top of these physical servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server Expertise: The Infrastructure Engineer will have strong experience with Windows Server (2012 - 2022) and will be responsible for imaging new physical Dell servers.
  • Virtual Server Deployment: The candidate will build 4 virtualised nodes and ensure seamless integration with the existing infrastructure.
  • Software License Management: The Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate with a Software Asset and License manager to migrate software licenses from one server to another server using Open LM and Flex LM technologies.
  • Server Decommissioning and Deployment: The successful candidate will have previous experience in decommissioning and deploying new Windows servers.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Strong understanding of infrastructure: Windows Server, migration, and configuration.
    • Experience working in a demerger environment would be beneficial.
    • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
    • Outside of IR35.

Requirements:

The Infrastructure Engineer is required to work onsite in Northampton for the duration of the 2-week contract. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
