Claims Management Lead

We are seeking an experienced Claims Management Lead to join our team at AXA XL in Ipswich, UK.
About the Role:
This is a dynamic opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to manage a small claims team within the motor claims department. The successful candidate will provide support to the Motor Claims Manager in the day-to-day running of the team, including incoming work and resource allocation, engagement with underwriters, and other stakeholders attached to the motor claims portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex claims. They will also be responsible for proactively managing a small claims caseload, providing guidance, instruction, and development pathways to direct reports.
The role requires the ability to lead by example, deliver technical expertise, and audit excellence for all direct reports. The successful candidate will demonstrate proactivity throughout the claim lifecycle for all claims, owned and referred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage your own caseload of complex claims in accordance with global guidelines.
- Management and oversight of key partners, ensuring quality of service and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Stakeholder management attaching to the Delegated Book - CDAG and TPA audit team included.
- Management and oversight of other partners, including Adjusters, Lawyers, and other experts.
- Manage your own portfolio of claims and oversee those of your direct reports.
- Assist the Motor Claims Management Team with the strategic relationship of Brokers, clients, Actuaries, and Underwriters.
- Work with the Delegated team and Claims Management on deliverables for the Group Standard requirements.
- Support underwriting teams and partners in connection with claim trends and marketing activities.
- Work with Management, Claims Legal, and handlers to identify and select appropriate counsel.
- Assist Motor Claims Manager to project manage key initiatives.
- Participate in the Quality Review Process for area of responsibility.
- Focus on direct reports' performance, development, and success.
- Participate in Extended Claims Leadership meetings and global strategic projects.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- ACII or Bachelor's degree desired but not essential.
- Good knowledge of the UK legal framework.
- Project management and performance delivery experience.
- Experience in completing internal audits.
Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
