Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one of our excellent primary schools in the Alnwick area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff, and will be able to provide individualized support to help the pupil engage with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support a pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis, providing individualized support to help them engage with their learning.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
  • Prepare resources for learning activities and lessons.
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
  • Liaise with parents and outside agencies to discuss progress as required.
Requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
  • A recognised Childcare-based qualification, although this is not essential.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Experience of supporting pupils in a School setting.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
