About the Role

Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Nurse to contribute to the implementation and development of the national NHS England Best Practice Timed Pathways programme for Skin cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to GP urgent referrals for patients with potential symptoms of skin cancer.
  • Provide rapid triage, diagnosis, and advice on management and onward treatment.
  • Collaborate with the Cancer Performance Team and Clinical team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the implementation of audit, quality, and risk management initiatives.
  • Represent the Trust at internal and external meetings related to the Dermatology service.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Degree/Diploma in nursing studies or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of cancer pathways and assessing patients in the clinical environment.
