About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Nurse to contribute to the implementation and further development of our innovative diagnostic service for skin cancer. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cancer Performance Team and Clinical team to provide rapid triage of patients with symptoms that could indicate cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to GP urgent referrals for patients with potential symptoms of skin cancer.
  • Provide rapid triage and diagnosis, advice on management, and signposting to appropriate support services.
  • Work autonomously and lead on providing excellent patient care in line with rapid diagnosis.
  • Participate in the implementation of audit, quality, and risk management initiatives.
  • Represent the Trust and speciality at internal and external meetings related to the Dermatology service.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Degree/Diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Experience of assessing patients in the clinical environment and cancer pathways.
